Did You Base Your Business Plan On The Success Of Another Business?

    For example a competitor? If so, how closely did you follow their example? I've personally taken inspiration from a few businesses, but I haven't closely followed any one in particular.

    Yes, but now how you'd expect! I got chatting to a bloke at my local, and turned out we were in similar industries. He was doing very well, but we weren't quite similar enough to be competitors, so he let me in on some ideas he'd had and how they'd worked. He helped me a lot!

    Sounds like you dropped on with that one! What was the (fine) difference between your jobs?

    I do my own thing and don’t really base my business on anyone else - however, I do get inspired by reading of successful businesses and how they were built up. I truly believe that a good idea can still be successful despite all the people who say all the good ideas are taken. If you have an idea then research other similar business ideas, if you can find any on Google then either you are one of the first or those that already do it are not visible - either way, there is a chance to be successful.
